Circular economy
Increasing the proportion of recycled and certified materials in our products is a good milestone. However, the biggest challenge is to close material cycles by ensuring that all products, from packaging and textiles to our hard goods, are as recyclable as possible and can be reprocessed into new products after use. This requires innovations in production, disposal, sorting and recycling along the value chain and product life cycles.
The goal: to move away from the conventional, linear business culture and toward a circular economy! For us at Tchibo, this means completely rethinking topics such as product design for textiles and hardware, packaging, and customer service. In doing so, we are focusing on the core principles of circularity: rethink, reduce, reuse, repair, and recycle.

Tchibo is already testing and developing circular innovations. We are undergoing a transformation that requires fundamental changes in our value creation. To take others with us on our circular economy journey, we have developed Circular Solutions Pattern Cards. These are a systematic analysis of our circular activities in areas such as packaging innovation, recyclable product design, and repair services. We share our findings and challenges publicly, because only together with our customers and other organizations and service providers can we close the loop.
