Donations

As a family business, we feel a connection to those in our immediate community who are less fortunate. We care for those in financial need, as well as those who need our human support.

For years, we have been cooperating with the German Food Bank (Tafel Deutschland e.V.) and the Hamburg-based non-profit organization Hanseatic Help, donating goods and money. Our national and international humanitarian aid is provided through our long-standing collaboration with the German Red Cross.

Our employees have actively supported the cause in a variety of ways over the past few years. In addition to volunteer work, they have donated money and coffee allowances to our long-standing partners – the German Red Cross, Tafel e.V., and Hanseatic Help.

Guide for in-kind and financial donations

We define donations as follows: Donations are all voluntary contributions (in kind or monetary donations) to recognized non-profit organizations for which Tchibo does not receive any monetary compensation. Recognized non-profit organizations issue tax-deductible donation receipts (donation receipts) to Tchibo GmbH for the value of donated goods and/or monetary amounts.

Membership contributions to recognized non-profit organizations are also considered donations under certain conditions (for example, the organization's headquarters are located in Germany).

The primary focus of donations is to prevent the destruction of goods and to influence positive social development.

In-kind donations are primarily made to the contractually agreed partnerships with Tchibo GmbH: Hanseatic Help e. V., the Tafeln e. V. (Hamburger Tafel e. V. and Bundesverband Tafeln e. V.), and innatura gGmbH. Financial donations are made to the German Red Cross (DRK) after internal coordination, particularly in the event of international, national and/or regional humanitarian and/or natural disasters.
