See you again: Tchibo launches refurbished offer for fully automatic coffee machines
Hamburg,
A second life for fully automatic coffee machines - and a forward-looking business model for Tchibo: With Tchibo Refurbished, the Hamburg-based company is taking a consistent step towards a circular economy. Used appliances are purchased, professionally refurbished and sold again. Tchibo thus combines sustainability with attractive offers for price-conscious customers.
Tchibo Refurbished means: tested quality, professional reconditioning and an almost as good as new user experience for customers. And at an attractive price advantage compared to new goods. A double win: Tchibo Refurbished extends the product life cycle of fully automatic machines, reduces electronic waste and hits the nerve of the times. After all, sustainability and conscious consumption are important criteria for more and more people when making purchasing decisions.
"With Tchibo Refurbished, we are proving that sustainability doesn't have to be a cost factor, but can be a catalyst for stronger customer relationships and long-term value creation," says Kristina Kölling, Head of Environment and Circular Economy at Tchibo. "By giving our coffee machines a second life, we are closing the loop in a way that is good for the environment and good for business."

Tchibo Refurbished Step by Step
The buy-back portal will be launched in June 2025: In cooperation with the start-up koorvi, Tchibo Refurbished will be the first step in buying used fully automatic machines from the Esperto Caffè models (first generation), which will be professionally refurbished and completely cleaned by a long-standing Tchibo repair partner. The fully automatic machines will then be resold at a reduced price in tested Tchibo quality. koorvi is the service provider for the realisation and provision of the platform for buying and selling.
"We developed koorvi to make the circular economy simple, scalable and profitable," says Andrea Schneller, CEO of koorvi. "Our partnership with Tchibo shows what is possible when sustainability meets intelligent infrastructure."

Sale: The resale of refurbished models
The purchased machines are reconditioned by Tchibo and can then be purchased in the usual Tchibo quality at a favourable price compared to the normal price. The sale distinguishes between two conditions: "very good" for €179 and "good" for €149. Machines in both conditions are fully functional and come with a 24-month guarantee and a 30-day right of return.
