Sandra Coy
She has been with Tchibo since December 2008, handling communication on sustainability topics. This includes everything from "cotton in transition" and the supply chain law to reusable bags! The trained journalist originally studied American Studies and worked in radio and television before fully discovering her passion for coffee. In her free time, the Munich native enjoys the Alps or Fehmarn, reading, cycling, hiking, or practicing headstands. The only place she prefers to avoid is the kitchen.
Andreas Engelmann
He started in February 2008 at Tchibo, focusing on coffee and sustainability. As the "roaster of hearts," he is the media contact for company-related inquiries, logistics, sales channels, human resources topics, the corporate website, and spokesperson for Tchibo MOBIL. He also supports internal communications and continually works on improving his sensory skills in coffee tasting. At least, that's how he tries to justify his high coffee consumption, which is well above the 5 cups a day mentioned in the Tchibo podcast.
Karina Schneider
A communications graduate, she has been reporting on fair coffee, the best brewing tips, and machine types since 2011. Her passion for coffee (especially espresso!) was discovered at Tchibo, despite her previous love for tea. Since then, she has ground and brewed her espresso fresh every morning with plenty of pressure. After working at the ARD Hauptstadtstudio, L’Oréal Paris, comdirect bank, and Stiftung Rechnen, she has dedicated over 10 years to coffee communication as a spokesperson. Alongside Sandra Coy, she makes Germany's favorite beverage audible in the Tchibo Corporate Podcast "5 Cups a Day." In her private life, she enjoys Danish Brunsviger, the Swedish archipelago of Bohuslän, and climbing in South Tyrol. She cultivates everything in her garden or relaxes by jogging, skiing, SUP on the Alster, or doing yoga. She also has specialized knowledge in dream and sleep research.
Maraike Kahlstorf
She has been with Tchibo since March 2020 in Corporate Communication, covering everything that interests and moves people both within the company and beyond in internal communications. Additionally, the Communication Manager and passionate writer supports the spokespersons for Non-Food and Coffee with external communication. When she’s not typing away at work, you can find her engaged in various sports activities, traveling, or spending time with friends by the water.
Dr. Gerhard Bytof
He has been with Tchibo since July 2007, working in Coffee Research and Development. The trained biologist is deeply knowledgeable about every aspect of coffee: the plant, green coffee, roasted coffee, and the beverage—particularly in terms of ingredients and their effects on quality and health. As a coffee taster, he considers himself to be, despite all his efforts, merely in the upper middle tier, which he tries to compensate for with his coffee consumption (7 cups a day: filter coffee or Caffè Créma, usually with a splash of milk, or espresso with sugar). If there is no coffee or no drinkable coffee available, he is happy to settle for a strong tea (with milk).
In his free time, Gerhard Bytof enjoys spending time with his family, gardening (more wild than precise), traveling (if not to coffee-growing regions, then to the UK and Ireland), reading (thrillers and history), and listening to music (soul, blues, alternative, and Brazilian music).
Kim
She has been with Tchibo since 2013, focusing on communication related to sustainability topics. Before transitioning to the Tchibo Corporate Responsibility Team in 2024, she worked in coffee (brewing) marketing for several years. Her passion for coffee has long been established - both professionally and personally! As a Senior Sustainability Manager, Kim works to make our efforts and projects towards greater responsibility visible. This includes areas such as human rights, environmental and climate protection - across both coffee and non-food products, and in both internal and external communications.
