CALL ME YOUR HOT DATE - or who is the pad machine actually right for?
"WHO YOU GONNA CALL?" - Our coffee and coffee machine experts agree: if you're in a pinch and the only thing that can save you is a ready-made coffee, then it has to be the CALL ME PAD! In this podcast episode of "5 cups a day", Tchibo Coffee spokesperson Karina Schneider, coffee sommelier Indre Berendes and podcast newbie and Tchibo product manager Franziska Kroll explain why they are so enthusiastic about the pad machine.
Kaffee(wissen) to go
It couldn't be simpler. Insert the pad, press the button, coffee comes out. For those who need coffee quickly and easily, the pod machine is the perfect companion in all situations. Whether it's early in the morning, when nothing works without coffee, or poured directly into a to-go cup on the way to work - "quick" is the magic word here.

The amount of water is preset and adjusted to the amount of coffee in the selected pods. Or as project manager Franziska Kroll summarises the operation: "You can't really do anything wrong. The machine comes with a high level of reliability." Well, there is perhaps one adjustment screw that can be used to differentiate between a 'good' and a 'very good' coffee result. The expert tip: Spread the coffee powder evenly in the pad, including around the edge, so that no water flows past and the coffee can be fully extracted.
Sustainability for all
Speaking of pads - these can simply be disposed of in the organic waste bin after use. If you want to give your pod a second life, you can also use the coffee grounds for a homemade scrub or as fertiliser, Indre recommends.
Sustainability and longevity have also been prioritised for the pod machine.
"But if something does go wrong, we offer our customers a repair and spare parts service, as well as a video inspection."
And cleaning is also easy at the touch of a button.
Perhaps a little unfortunate for a podcast, the pod machine is very quiet and only the three people present can enjoy the smell of coffee being prepared live.
