SPOTLIGHT. Will we still have coffee tomorrow?
About responsibility, prices and the future of our favourite product
Dialogue event: 14. April 2026 | Doors open: 2:15 pm | Start: 3:00 pm | Berlin (Data Space)
Coffee is at a tipping point worldwide. Climate change, crop failures, fragile supply chains and highly volatile global markets threaten the future of a product on which millions of people in the countries of origin are economically dependent. But coffee lovers around the world are also affected. Experts predict that in 20 years' time, it will no longer be possible to grow coffee in parts of the world. The situation is similarly dramatic for cocoa.
Against this backdrop, we are organising a dialogue event in Berlin on 14 April 2026, bringing together key players from politics, business, civil society, consumer protection, science and the media. The aim is to have an open, constructive debate on shared responsibility, new approaches and necessary alliances for the future of coffee and cocoa.
