A day intended to mark the progress of the circular economy in the textile industry. Here you can find our activities on the path towards a circular economy – based on the core principles of circularity (Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle), covering both textiles and other product segments.

For two products in our current Active collection, we use recycled polyester from textile waste (textile-to-textile/T2T) as an alternative to conventional polyester or polyester recycled from PET bottles. Old textiles and production waste are repurposed for new products instead of being discarded.

We were part of the Partnership Initiative Organic Cotton, which aimed to make the transition to organic cotton possible and empower smallholder farmers, e.g. through trainings and procurement flows. A review is now available on the "Dialogue and Impact for Sustainable Textiles" website.

A passion for textiles: In the new issue of our "Tchibo Momente" customer magazine, we take a look behind the scenes of the textile repair service we offer in collaboration with Repair Rebels and Bridge&Tunnel. Pass on the good!

We are part of a cross-industry collaboration coordinated by CIRCULAR REPUBLIC that brings together various stakeholders from the textile and waste management sectors. A report containing recommendations for a well-designed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system in Germany was now published.

As part of the new textile repair service launched with our partners Repair Rebels and Bridge&Tunnel, Tchibo customers can send in selected garments for professional repair. This is an important step toward making the circular economy more practical for everyday life.

We are proud to be partners of CIRCULAR REPUBLIC and to jointly advance the circular economy through the "Textile EPR Precursor" project. The goal: to pilot a holistic circular transformation in practice and to drive forward Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)!

A glimpse into our current Non Food assortment: The CN3 furniture series embodies our commitment to quality and durability. It features a timeless, modular design, robust construction, scratch-resistant surfaces, and flexible adaptability through additional modules like fronts, casters, or drawers.

The "Initiative for Organic Cotton in India" project, which supports farmers in converting from conventional to organically grown cotton, was launched in 2022. Now, the first products from the third year of the project from the supplier Pratibha are available in our assortment, such as these shirts.
