Since 2006, responsibility / sustainability has been an integral part of our business strategy, our DNA, and the way we operate. Today, 20 years later, we take stock and look back on two decades in which we have achieved a lot. But we also know that we have not yet reached all our goals yet.

A new framework helps companies quantify the strategic value of circular investments: We are proud to be part of the study "Closing the Valuation Gap: A Business Case Valuation Framework for Circular Economy Investment," developed by WWF and Quantis.

A day intended to mark the progress of the circular economy in the textile industry. Here you can find our activities on the path towards a circular economy – based on the core principles of circularity (Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Recycle), covering both textiles and other product segments.

For two products in our current Active collection, we use recycled polyester from textile waste (textile-to-textile/T2T) as an alternative to conventional polyester or polyester recycled from PET bottles. Old textiles and production waste are repurposed for new products instead of being discarded.

A great opportunity to reflect on the fact that the work of numerous farmers lies behind our daily enjoyment of coffee. We launched the Tchibo Coffee Programme to support farmers in the coffee growing regions. Because if we want to keep enjoying truly great coffee in the future, we need to act now.

As part of International Coffee Partners (ICP), we work alongside other companies to support climate-resilient coffee farming smallholder families. Want to learn more? ICP is attending the SCTA Forum in Montreux (Switzerland) today and tomorrow - hosting a session and exhibiting at a booth.

As part of c&c, we like to share the invitation to the next Online Symposium: Expert speakers will shed light on the topic from different perspectives, share experiences from the field, and discuss how the Climate-Smart Coffee Regions approach can be put into practice.

We were part of the Partnership Initiative Organic Cotton, which aimed to make the transition to organic cotton possible and empower smallholder farmers, e.g. through trainings and procurement flows. A review is now available on the "Dialogue and Impact for Sustainable Textiles" website.

Climate resilient coffee farming: Together with Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG) Vietnam, we are supporting up to 4000 smallholder coffee producers in Dak Lak and Gia Lai. Intercropping strengthens both environmental sustainability and farmer livelihoods.

The coffee comes from the Lempira and Ocotepeque regions of Honduras. There, the coffee creates opportunities and prospects for local children: three daycare projects provide care and offer spaces for learning and development while their parents harvest the coffee.

As part of World Coffee Research, Dr. Ingo Lantz, member of the WCR Research Advisory Committee and Tchibo’s Director of Research & Development, visited El Salvador to monitor progress in the coffee breeding program firsthand and to taste new climate-resilient coffee varieties.

Science is an indespensable cornerstone of our efforts on more resilient coffee production! The study, in which we participated together with CIRAD and WASI, shows that coffee production can remain just as productive while using significantly less water. Read here!

We are part of a cross-industry collaboration coordinated by CIRCULAR REPUBLIC that brings together various stakeholders from the textile and waste management sectors. A report containing recommendations for a well-designed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system in Germany was now published.
