In this two-part series from Umweltdialog, join our colleague Fanny on her journey to Vietnam - a country that excels at producing coffee, yet remains poor. This is precisely where the Tchibo Coffee Program steps in: its goal is to improve farmers' incomes and stabilize their living conditions.

For the fourth time now, we are offering "Kahawa Skuli" - the school coffee from Tanzania. Launched in 2017 in collaboration with our partner City Coffee Ltd, the "Tanzania Coffee Clubs" initiative now involves seven schools and over 1,200 young farmers across the Mbeya and Songwe regions.

In 2025, WCR, with support from member companies and in collaboration with its global partners, made tremendous progress toward the development and distribution of tomorrow’s climate-resilient coffee varieties. We are part of it! Click here for the newly released 2025 annual report.

Under the title "Change and Impact", we are addressing the future viability of coffee: How can we strengthen farmers' economic resilience and prepare them for the consequences of climate change and other crises? We are looking at challenges, but also opportunities and concrete measures.

We are proud to be member of the Coffee Canopy Partnership! By combining high-resolution satellite imagery and AI technology, together we’re identifying deforestation risk, supporting landscape restoration and protecting the livelihoods of millions of smallholder farmers for generations to come.

We have further reduced our CO2 emissions in transport and logistics and have received the Lean and Green 3rd Star today for this achievement. GS1 Germany awards the 3rd Star to recognize the company's progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions over several target periods.

Two years after its launch, Tchibo’s “Coffee2Stay” programme is having a tangible impact at source in our countries of origin: Already 22,000 farms in nine producing countries have been reached – significantly more than last year. More in our current press release.

The "Initiative for Organic Cotton in India" project, which supports farmers in converting from conventional to organically grown cotton, was launched in 2022. Now, the first products from the third year of the project from the supplier Pratibha are available in our assortment, such as these shirts.

Founded in 2001, International Coffee Partners (ICP) celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Tchibo is one of the founding members. Over the past 25 years, more than 125,700 farming families have been engaged in ICP projects in 13 coffee producing countries.
